2 days Sipi falls Safari

Enjoy this short tour in the pearl of Africa which will take you to the eastern part of the country in Jinja and Mbale. While in Jinja, you will enjoy the source of the longest river in the world which begins in Lake Victoria and this will be visited on a boat cruise. Another adventure is hiking Sipi falls which are 3 waterfalls at different elevations with a great view of Mount Elgon.

You will enjoy the best landscape while on the journey to and from and among others are the tea plantations, forests like Mabira with its primates like the olive baboons, varvet monkeys and many more others. A night will be spent at one of the resorts with a great view of Sipi falls.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1. Transfer to Sipi with a visit to the source of the Nile

Leave Kampala in the morning at around 8 am and transfer to Mbale where Sipi falls is located. This amazing journey will involve different stopovers like one at roadside markets, Tea plantations and much more. You will encounter different views such as the one for tea plantations, Mabira forest and the source of the Nile in Jinja where you will also have your enroute lunch watching over the Nile.

The boat cruise to the source of the Nile is very amazing and you will be in a position to spot some birds and hippos. Procced to Mbale on the slopes of Mt Elgon where you will have a night with a great view of the Sipi falls.

Day 2. Hike and transfer back to Kampala

You will begin the day with breakfast and then head for a briefing at Sipi falls hiking office. The local guide will tell you the dos and don'ts, be expectant in the field, acquire hiking and be ready to start the walk guidance of the local guide. Begin the hike by passing the community garden with coffee plantations and of course, it's Arabic.

This hike will last for 3 to 4 hours depending on the ability you have. Enjoy the different views of the Sipi falls which are 3 in number at a different level as the guide will be telling you about the stories attached to this waterfall. You will transfer after heading for mid-lunch and then transfer back to Kampala and this will be the end of the tour.
