Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Uganda
Your 2-day gorilla trekking Uganda from Kigali offers an opportunity to explore the beauty of both Rwanda and Uganda. The optional tea experience in Gichumbi, Rwanda, enhances the journey by immersing you in the lush landscapes where some of the country's finest tea is grown.
After the city tour in the modern Kigali capital, settle for leisurely lunch and then head to Katuna/Chanika border to cross to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 4-5 hours’ drive journey. En-route, enjoy the breathtaking view of both Rwanda exceptional landscape and that of Uganda characterized by rolling hills.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
The highlight of this 2-Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda from Kigali tour is gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, prepare for the adventure ahead by putting on comfortable trekking clothes and sturdy hiking boots for the forest trails.
Pre-trek Briefing
The trek begins at around 8:00 AM following a briefing by the park rangers. You’ll learn about the forest, gorilla trekking guidelines, and what to expect before being assigned to a gorilla family. Accompanied by an experienced guide and ranger team, you’ll enter the misty Bwindi Forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.
The trek can take approximately 2 to 6 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located and how far they have moved into the forest. Once you find them, you’ll spend one hour observing and photographing the gorillas in their natural habitat. Watch the silverback, mothers, and young gorillas as they feed, play, rest, and interact within the forest.
Return to Kigali
After this unforgettable encounter, hike back to the starting point, where your driver will take you to the lodge. Take some time to rest and unwind after the trek before checking out and preparing for your return journey to Kigali.
