It will include border crossing from Katuna to Kabale or Chanika to Kisoro, then you connect to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a lush forest protected area that is found in Southwestern Uganda.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site lies in Southwestern and it was established in 1991. The park land area measures 331sq.kms, inhabiting up to 120 mammal species, 160 species of trees, 100 fern species, colorful butterflies, 360 bird species such as the African green broadbill, Shelley’s crimson-wings, Chapin’s flycatchers, swamp warblers, to mention but a few.

Day 1: From Kigali to Uganda - Bwindi National Park

Your 2 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari - Starting From Kigali, will have an optional kigali city tour, and this will include visiting the museum, the Kigali genocide site, Kimironko market- one of the biggest markets in Kigali.

After the city tour in the modern Kigali capital, settle for leisurely lunch and then head to Katuna/Chanika border to cross to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 4-5 hours’ drive journey. En-route, enjoy the breathtaking view of both Rwanda exceptional landscape and that of Uganda characterized by rolling hills.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Start your day with a hearty breakfast to gear up for the exciting gorilla trekking adventure ahead. After eating, get ready to leave the lodge in comfortable trekking gear, including sturdy boots for navigating the rugged trails of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Expect a thrilling 2 to 6 hours of searching for the magnificent mountain gorillas, so be sure to pack energy snacks and plenty of water.

The trek kicks off at 8:00 am after a briefing from the park rangers, where you'll learn about the forest, get tips for the trek, and be assigned to a gorilla family. Led by an experienced guide, you’ll venture into the misty, dense Bwindi Forest, known for its rich biodiversity, towering trees, and thick vegetation that makes it feel like a whole other world.

When you finally spot the gorilla family, led by the powerful silverback, you’ll have one hour to observe these amazing creatures up close. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to watch them play, interact, and go about their day—so keep your camera ready for those unforgettable shots.
