7 days Primates and Wildlife in Rwanda

Enjoy this 7days primate and wildlife safari in Rwanda that will take you to the most interesting places for different sight-seeing. Take an example of trekking the most interesting great apes are gorillas, trek golden monkeys, chimpanzees and much other wildlife found in Akagera national parks where you will have a chance to spot the big five animals though game drives. Detailed itinerary

Day 1. Arrive in Kigali, city tour

Meet our well-behaved driver guide at the airport who will welcome you and take you to the nearest hotel for breakfast. Thereafter check in with the hotel and move for the city tour. Explore the beauty and cleanliness of the city of Kigali, visit the craft shops and buy some souvenirs, historical sites and many interesting sites around the city. Retreat to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2. Transfer to Volcanoes national park

Volcanoes is one of the national parks found in the northwestern parts of Rwanda and it covers an area of 160 square Kilometers of the rainforest. It is home to 10 gorilla groups, golden monkeys, white Angolan colobus monkey, beautiful plants and flowers and many more. Therefore, on this second day after your breakfast, you will travel heading to this massive and amazing national Park. On your arrival, check-in and wait for dinner and overnight.

Day 3. Gorilla trekking

Gorilla trekking takes the first position among all activities in Rwanda and is the most expensive. The activity normally takes place early morning at around 07:00 am when visitors gather to be given a group of gorillas to trek as well as briefing. So you will wake up early, have your breakfast and move to the offices before time. After trekking  retreat to the office to meet your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch

Day 4. Golden monkey trekking

The golden monkey is one of the 12 primates found in volcanoes in national Park Rwanda and therefore, you will wake up early morning and have your breakfast then move to the park offices for briefing and set off for the field in search of these amazing primates. After getting any group you will enjoy their jumping styles from one tree to another, grooming each other, their eating habits and many more. After moving back to the lodge for your picnic lunch and relax.

Day 5. Depart to Nyungwe forest National Park

On this day you will wake, have your breakfast and prepare for the checkout. You can be birding around the lodge or just move checking on beautiful flowers and set off for the journey to Nyungwe forest National Park. Before reaching the forest you will have a stopover for lunch and proceed with the journey to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6. Chimpanzee trekking

Wake up early morning and take your well-prepared breakfast accompanied with a cup of coffee or tea depending on your choice and set off for the driver heading to the park offices to meet a ranger guide who will lead you for a walk-in search of chimpanzees. The forest is blessed with a large number of chimpanzees including other primates like L’Hoest’s monkeys and the white Angolan colobus monkey. After the experience, descend to the lodge for lunch and relax.

Day 7. Fly back home after a transfer to Kigali

The seventh day of this trip will mark the end of your safari to Rwanda after having an early breakfast. You will check out with the lodge and have a stopover in Kigali town for lunch. Thereafter, you will visit any craft shop around to buy some souvenirs and support the locals. As you are done with everything your driver guide will drop you at the airport and fly you back home.
