Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Entebbe – Lake Mburo National Park – Boat Cruise

Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Entebbe. Meet your professional driver-guide and start the scenic journey southwest towards Lake Mburo National Park. The drive takes approximately 4–5 hours, offering beautiful views of Uganda’s countryside, including green hills, farmlands, and local communities.

Along the way, you will make a stop at the Uganda Equator crossing in Kayabwe, where you can take memorable photos and learn about this famous geographical landmark. You may also have the opportunity to visit local craft shops or experience traditional cultural activities before continuing to the park.

Upon arrival at Lake Mburo National Park, check into your budget lodge and enjoy lunch. Later in the afternoon, head out for a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Mburo. The boat ride provides a great chance to observe hippos resting in the water, Nile crocodiles along the shores, and a variety of bird species including African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, and cormorants.

After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight relaxation.
 

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Return to Entebbe

After an early breakfast, begin your morning game drive through Lake Mburo National Park. The early hours offer some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities as animals are more active before the heat of the day.

Lake Mburo is famous for its large herds of zebras and impalas and is one of the best places in Uganda to see giraffes, especially the Rothschild’s giraffe. During the game drive, you may also encounter buffaloes, waterbucks, topis, elands, warthogs, bushbucks, and many bird species.

After the game drive, leave the park and begin your return journey to Entebbe. Enjoy lunch en route before continuing to your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
