Uganda 10 Day Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kibale National Park

Upon arrival at the airport, our driver guide will warmly welcome you and brief you about your Uganda 10 Day Itinerary: A 10 Days Uganda Safari Itinerary to Visit Murchison Falls, Trek for Gorillas & Chimpanzees, See the Big 5, and Scenic Lakes. You will then begin your journey to western Uganda, heading towards Kibale National Park, famously known as the “primate capital of the world.”

Along the way, you will stop in Fort Portal City for lunch before continuing through scenic countryside landscapes, rolling hills, tea plantations, and views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Top of the World Experience

After breakfast, you will drive to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers about chimpanzee trekking rules and expectations.

You will then enter Kibale Forest for a guided chimpanzee trek. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat. After the trek, you will return to the starting point and head back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the late afternoon, you will visit Isunga Community for the “Top of the World” experience, offering panoramic views of crater lakes, the Rwenzori Mountains, Kibale Forest, and Fort Portal City. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will continue your Uganda 10 Day Itinerary: A 10 Days Uganda Safari Itinerary to Visit Murchison Falls, Trek for Gorillas & Chimpanzees, See the Big 5, and Scenic Lakes, driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the scenic Rwenzori foothills.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon or evening, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you will see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous bird species along the shores.

Day 4: Game Drive in Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, you will head for a game drive in the Ishasha sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. You will also spot Uganda kobs, buffaloes, elephants, and other savannah wildlife. After the game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, continuing your Uganda 10 Day Itinerary: A 10 Days Uganda Safari Itinerary to Visit Murchison Falls, Trek for Gorillas & Chimpanzees, See the Big 5, and Scenic Lakes.

Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s richest biodiversity areas, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, along with hundreds of bird and mammal species. You will arrive in the afternoon or evening, check in at your lodge, relax, and prepare for gorilla trekking the following day.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for registration and permit verification. You will then proceed to the starting point for a briefing by the ranger guide before heading into the forest for your gorilla trekking experience.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi can take between 1 to 7 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find them, you will spend one magical hour observing their behavior—feeding, grooming, playing, and interacting—while taking photos and videos.

After the trek, you will return to the park offices to receive a trekking certificate and then head back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will take part in the Batwa cultural experience, where you will enjoy traditional dances, learn about their ancient forest lifestyle, experience fire-making techniques, and explore their cultural heritage. You may also purchase handmade souvenirs directly from the community. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Horseback Safari

After breakfast, you will check out and begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savannah park in Uganda but rich in wildlife and scenic landscapes.

Along the way, you will stop at Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch before continuing to your lodge near the park.

In the evening, after some relaxation, you will enjoy a guided horseback safari (offered by Mihingo Lodge area experiences), giving you a unique way to explore the park’s open savannahs and wildlife such as zebras and antelopes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Morning Game Drive and Evening Boat Cruise

After breakfast, you will head out for a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. This park is known for zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, and other antelope species, as well as a rich variety of birdlife including acacia species such as starlings, bishops, and hornbills.

Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the evening, you will enjoy a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, where you will see hippos, crocodiles, and numerous water birds. The park is also one of the few places where you may spot the rare African finfoot along the shoreline. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Transfer to Kampala and City Tour

After breakfast, you will check out and begin your journey back to Kampala. You will stop at the Equator for photos and a brief demonstration before continuing to the city.

Upon arrival in Kampala, you will enjoy a guided city tour, visiting key attractions such as the Uganda Museum, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, cultural markets, and craft centres. Depending on interest, you may also visit religious landmarks such as the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo.

Later, you will check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10: Departure

After breakfast, your driver guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your 10 Days Uganda safari itinerary to visit Murchison Falls, trek for gorillas & chimpanzees, see the Big 5, and scenic lakes.
