Day 1: Kigali to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park via Cyanika 

Your journey begins with an early morning pick-up in Kigali and a scenic drive south toward the Uganda border, crossing via the Cyanika border point into Kisoro District.

After immigration formalities, continue to Kisoro town for lunch, a quiet mountain town nestled in the shadow of the Virunga Volcanoes.

In the afternoon, proceed through rolling highland landscapes with a stop at Lake Mutanda, known for its volcanic backdrop and calm waters reflecting the Virunga ranges.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga & Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for a briefing at park headquarters before beginning your golden monkey trek.

The hike takes you through lush bamboo forests at the base of the Virunga Volcanoes, where you will track and observe the rare golden monkeys as they play, forage, and leap through the canopy.

In the afternoon, return to the lodge for lunch  before heading out for a Batwa cultural experience. Meet the Batwa community, learn about their forest heritage, traditional hunting techniques, music, and storytelling—offering a deep cultural perspective of the region.

You then continue to your lodge in Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for gorilla trekking the next day.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Transfer Back to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to the gorilla trekking briefing point in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Set off into the dense rainforest with expert ranger guides for your gorilla trekking experience. The trek can take 2–6 hours depending on the location of the habituated family, but the reward is an unforgettable hour spent observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

After the trek, begin your return journey to Kigali via Kisoro and the Cyanika border. Arrive in the evening, marking the end of your safari adventure.
