Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depart from Kigali at 9:00 am and drive through Rwanda’s scenic countryside into southwestern Uganda. After border formalities, continue through rolling hills toward Kabale, where you will stop for lunch before proceeding to Bwindi. Arrive in the evening, check in, and relax in preparation for the gorilla trekking experience the next day.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
After a morning briefing, begin your guided trek into the dense rainforest of Bwindi in search of mountain gorillas. The trek duration varies depending on the location of the gorilla family, but the experience offers an unforgettable hour in their presence before returning for rest.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Boat Cruise
Depart Bwindi and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying scenic views along the way. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, famous for its dense populations of hippos, elephants, buffaloes, and abundant birdlife along the shores.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kalinzu Forest & Return to Kigali
Start the day with chimpanzee trekking in Kalinzu Forest Reserve, where you may also encounter other primates such as colobus monkeys and baboons. After the trek, begin the return journey to Kigali, marking the end of your safari.
