4 days Virunga Gorillas and Nyiragongo safari

Day 1: Drive to Virunga National Park

Leave Kigali in the morning and transfer to Virunga National Park or Goma town, the nearest town to this park. You will attend a briefing about this great safari by the expert tour guide who will tell you about the dos and don'ts to follow while on this safari.

Cross through Goma border and go through the immigration procedures and this will create everlasting memories. You will enjoy the best rolling hills in the countryside of Rwanda and find your way to the lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience

This second day of your safari will begin with breakfast and then drive to the park headquarters for briefing. You will be told about the dos and to follow like don't feed animals, don't make noise, keep a distance and much more. Also, information like the gorilla behaviors, gestation period and the age limit won't be missed. Begin the trek under the leadership of the park guide ranger with a gun for protection in case of any danger and attack.

The overall experience takes about 3 to 5 hours but knows that hour will be spent in the presence of gorillas. There are other attractions that you can spot and among others are butterflies, birds, plant species and much more. Return to the lodge for your lunch and this will be the end of the day as you have your leisure time at the lodge or hotel.

Day 3: Hike to Mount. Nyiragongo

Head to the park gate for briefing after breakfast and this will commence with registration, hiring some potters to carry some luggage, booking a chef and much more. Immediately the hike will begin and this will be under the guidance of the park ranger guide. There are different vegetation types that you will pass through such as forest, bamboo and more.

Primates will be spotted such as the carver monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and much more. Arrive at the summit after a 6 to 7 hours lazy hike and you will be in a position to take a great scenery of the boiling lava lake at the summit. Have a nice time viewing the lake and then head to the camp for your overnight stay.

Day 4: Descend and transfer back to Kigali

Begin the day with breakfast and then descend to the bottom of the mountain. You will sign out and the driver guide will take you back to Kigali. Fly home after a drop-off at the airport and this will mark the end of this tour.
