Day 1: Kigali city tour Rwanda & border crossing to Congo

Wake up early, enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, you will be driven around Kigali with opportunity to visit iconic sites such as the Kigali genocide site, craft shops, the local markets and others. Have lunch afterwards, then you will be transferred to the Congo border where you will cross to check in at the accommodation for overnight stay. You will enjoy the scenic view of the Lake Kivu, a fresh water Lake shared between Congo and Rwanda.

Day 2: Ascending to the summits of Nyiragongo Volcano

Following an early breakfast, transfer for briefing at Kibati Ranger Post. Meet your guide and at 10:00am, start with your trek to conquer the summits of Nyiragongo Volcanoes (3470m). The overall time expected to take will be 6 hours although this varies depending on factors like trekkers speed. You will navigate via the lush forest at the base and once you reach at the summits, your mind will be blown away by the glowing Lava Lake.

Note; for those of you with heavy luggage, there are porters at the Kibati for hire and they will assist you carry your items. This will relieve you from the heavy load and you have full concentration on your adventure. You may consider carrying some higher energy giving snacks, bottled water to ensure you keep fit all through your trek to the summit.

Day 3: Descending back to Kibati

After taking breakfast, you will begin descending back to where your trek started the previous day. It is from this where you will be transferred back to Kigali for departure or drop off at your accommodation for a superb stay awaiting visiting the next destination.
