10 days Uganda and Rwanda safari

You will then drive to Bwindi the Park that homes the world's eye-catching apes which are mountain gorillas.  You will then connect to Rwanda to trek for the rare golden monkeys in volcanoes, visit the Iby’iwacu for the culture of Rwanda and your 10 days will end with Akagera National Park for the game drive and boat cruise on Lake Ihema.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at the Airport in Entebbe

Today, you will be welcomed to the pearl of Africa Uganda by our driver guide who will take you through a briefing about your 10 days Uganda and Rwanda safari then he will drive you to the hotel of your booking for your lunch or dinner depending on your time of arrival.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National park

Wake up in the morning have your breakfast and then transfer to Kibale National Park also known as the primate capital of the world with 13 primates including the chimpanzees. You will have your stopover in Fort portal city for your lunch and optional city tour. And while on your city tour, you can opt to visit the Amabere caves and the trail will connect you to the Nyakasura falls, you can visit the King's Palace.

Later after your city tour, you will proceed with your journey to the Kibale National Park at the lodge of your booking for your next day's activities.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp

Have breakfast, drive to the chimpanzee trekking starting point which is Kanyanchu where you will meet the Park ranger guide who brief you about your trekking experience and after, he will escort you to the forest to look for these primates.

Meanwhile, as you are looking for these chimpanzees, you will be looking at other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobuses, olive baboons and many more. But once they are found, you will be given an hour to watch them play, communicate, feed, and groom each other. You will also be taking photos during this one hour in their presence. Move back to the lodge for lunch, and then in the evening, you will head for a nature walk in Bigodi Swamp.

While on your swamp walk, you will add birds on your checklist like the great blue turacos, with high chances of spotting the rare green-breasted pitta and many more birds, you will look at mammals like sitatungas and sometimes chimpanzees but rarely seen. Move back to the lodge for your dinner.

Day 4: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park and game drive in the Mweya peninsula

After your breakfast, you will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park and a drive taking you 2-3 hours you will be looking at the Rwenzori Mountain ranges on your way to the park since the park is in its foothills, onto reaching the Park, you will be welcomed by animals like elephants, warthogs, buffaloes and many more.

You will immediately continue to the Mweya peninsula for a game drive where you will have a look at animals like leopards, lions, hyenas, Uganda kob that leopards prey on and many more. Travel to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Morning Boat cruise and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable National Park

With a delicious breakfast, you will head for a boat cruise on Kazinga that connects lake Edward and Lake George where you will have a view animals that inhabit the waters like hippos and crocodiles and also visitor animals like elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and several more. You will spot water birds.

Move back to the lodge have your lunch and pick up your luggage, your driver guide will drive you to Bwindi impenetrable national with a stopover at the equator in Kasese for photographic moments while in the two hemispheres that are the Northern and southern hemispheres. After you will proceed with the journey to Kisoro and check in at the lodge for dinner.

Day 7: Mountain gorillas trekking and connect to Rwanda

Having had your breakfast, you will drive to the headquarters where you will the Park ranger guide who will take you through a briefing about the dos and don'ts while tracking and then he will lead you to the forest to look for one family among fifteen habituated gorilla families. When found, you will only be given one hour in their presence as you watch them communicate, play, breastfeed and many more behaviours. Note that if you are having any infectious disease like flu, cough, you will not be allowed to trek.

You will then move back to the lodge for lunch and after you will connect to Rwanda the land of a thousand hills.

Day 8: Golden monkey trekking in volcanoes and Iby’iwacu Cultural Village

In the morning after your delicious breakfast, you will drive to volcanoes national park where you will trek the rare golden monkeys and it will begin with a briefing from the park ranger guide who will after lead you to the forest to look for them.

When you spot them, you will be given one hour to follow them as you learn their behaviours and taking photos as well. Later on, you will move back to the lodge for lunch and in the evening, you Will head to Iby’iwacu Cultural Community to explore the cultures of the Banyarwanda and you will be entertained by their traditional dances, told stories about their country's history and also having a taste of their food. Dinner time Will come. And you will move to the lodge for your dinner.

Day 9: Travel to Akagera and evening game drive

You will set off for a road trip to Akagera National Park which is among the oldest Parks in Africa it is the only savannah Park in Rwanda with a lot of biodiversities and if you want to look at the lions, elephants, leopards, rhinoceros, buffaloes at the same time then try on Akagera. You will check in at the lodge for lunch and in the evening, you will head for a game drive to spot some savannah animals like zebras, elephants, and giraffes to mention but a few. You will also look at different and unique tree species that have existed for over 1000 years. Retreat to the lodge for dinner and your night.

Day 10: Morning Boat cruise and departure

After your breakfast in the morning, you will head for a morning boat cruise on Lake Ihema in Akagera National Park where you will be able to look at aquatic animals like hippos, crocodiles and many species of water birds like herons, pelicans and many more. You will also look at some animals like elephants who always visit the lake to bathe and drink some water, and return to the lodge for lunch.

Later on, you will check out from the lodge and drive to Kigali for your flight back to your home country.
