3 days of golden monkey trekking in Rwanda

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to volcanoes

You will arrive at the airport in Kigali and you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will take you through a short briefing about your 3 days of golden monkey trekking in Rwanda, thereafter you will transfer to volcanoes national where these golden monkeys are trekked from. You will check in at the hotel of your booking.

Day 2: Golden monkey trekking and Iby’iwacu Cultural Village

Having had your breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters by your driver guide where you will meet the Park ranger guide who will first take you through a short briefing about the experience and then lead you to the forest to search for these rare golden monkeys.

Once sighted, you will be given one hour to follow them as you watch them play, feed, jump from one tree to another and take photos as well. You will also look at some birds and different tree species among others. Move back to the lodge for lunch and after head for Iby’iwacu Cultural Community.

While in Iby’iwacu Cultural Community, you will look at different cultures of the Kinyarwanda, have a taste of their food if you wish to, enjoy their beautiful Cultural dances and not forget to buy yourself some souvenirs made by the Rwandan women. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3:  Transfer to Kigali and short city tour then departure

You will wake up in the morning, have your breakfast and drive back to Kigali immediately head for a city tour where you will be able to visit a variety of places like the Kigali genocide memorial site to look at the remains of the thousands of Tutsi and Hutu who were killed in 1994 wars, visit art centres and museums, markets and many more interesting places.  After your city tour, you will proceed with your journey to the airport, you will have your picnic lunch from any restaurant along the way.
