Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival, City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Arrive in Kigali, where you’ll be met by our friendly guide who will take you on a brief city tour, visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the vibrant Kimironko Market, and the scenic Mount Kigali for a panoramic view of the city. Afterward, head to Volcanoes National Park, approximately 104 km from Kigali, with a scenic 3-hour drive. On arrival, enjoy a relaxing evening at one of the comfortable lodges, such as Tiloreza Volcanoes Eco Lodge or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking

After enjoying an early breakfast, you'll head to the park headquarters for a briefing at 8:00 am. During the briefing, a park ranger will provide important information about the trek, including safety guidelines, gorilla behavior, and how to interact with them. Based on your physical fitness and preferences, you'll be assigned to a gorilla group that suits your abilities.

The trek begins at the edge of the lush forest, where you'll start your hike through dense vegetation. The duration of the trek varies, typically taking between 1 to 4 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla group. Your guide and ranger will lead you along the trails, making sure to navigate the terrain safely.

Once you encounter the gorillas, you'll spend an unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. This rare opportunity to watch them interact, feed, and move through the forest is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience that allows you to connect with nature in an intimate and profound way.

After the encounter, you'll return to your lodge, where you can relax and reflect on the experience while enjoying a hearty meal. This will be a day you will remember for the rest of your life.

Day 3: Cultural Visit or Golden Monkey Tracking & Departure

On the final day, choose between a cultural visit to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you’ll experience traditional dances, music, and crafts, or track the endangered golden monkeys in the park. Afterward, enjoy a hot lunch before transferring back to Kigali for your return flight.
