Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Start your journey early from Entebbe or Kampala and drive to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino tracking experience. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant within the sanctuary before continuing your journey to Murchison Falls. Upon arrival, check in at Pakuba Safari Lodge and take some time to relax. Later in the evening, embark on a 1-2 hour game drive to spot the park's diverse wildlife, or simply unwind at the lodge, soaking in the serene surroundings.
Day 2: Game Drive, Nile Boat Safari, and Hike to the Top of Murchison Falls
After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive, exploring the park's savannahs and forests in search of elephants, giraffes, lions, and other wildlife. Return to Pakuba Safari Lodge for lunch, then proceed to Paraa for an afternoon boat cruise at 2 pm. The boat safari will take you along the Nile River, where you'll witness animals like hippos, crocodiles, and buffaloes along the riverbanks. Marvel at the natural beauty as you cruise to the base of the world's most powerful waterfall, Murchison Falls.
Disembark for a thrilling hike to the top of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the Nile's dramatic plunge through a narrow gorge. Along the way, enjoy the misty spray and hear the thunderous roar of the falls. From the top, take in breathtaking views of both the Murchison and Uhuru Falls, learning about their historical and cultural significance, including tales of ancient kingdoms and marriage rites. If time allows, capture the stunning sunset as it casts a golden hue over the landscape before heading back to the lodge.
Day 3: Morning Drive and Departure
After breakfast, check out of Pakuba Safari Lodge. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a final short game drive in the park, soaking in the last glimpses of wildlife. Afterward, begin the journey back to Entebbe or Kampala. If you have time, a stop at a local lodge for a meal or rest before your flight can be arranged. End of your 3-day Murchison Falls National Park safari, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Uganda's magnificent wildlife and natural beauty.
